Q&A

What's the best way to get around London?

London has an excellent public transportation system, including the Tube (Underground/Overground lines) and city buses. We highly recommend using public transport instead of services like Uber, which can be unreliable. For efficient navigation, we suggest downloading the Citymapper app, which offers the best real-time directions for public transportation. Alternatively, traditional black cabs are available throughout the city, though they can be quite expensive.

Do I need an Oyster Card for public transport?

No, all Tube stations and buses allow tap-to-pay functionality, so an oyster card is not needed. However, please note that for national rail trains (different than the underground) you may need a to buy a physical ticket or eTicket via Trainline.

Do I need to take out cash in pounds?

Virtually everything in London supports tap-to-pay functionality. If you have a credit card that does not charge international exchange fees, we recommend avoiding cash withdrawals.

IMPORTANT SAFETY TIPS

London is generally a safe city for travelers; however, petty theft can be an issue, especially in crowded areas. Be mindful of your phone and personal belongings, as thieves on bicycles have been known to snatch phones from pedestrians.
