I met Dalton at 17 when I was senior in high school. I remember our first date like it was yesterday. We met in the K-Mart parking lot (a Maysville classic), and went to the Winery in Flemingsburg. We were both so nervous that I don't think either of us took more than three bites of our food. We spent the rest of the night driving around, looking at Christmas lights, and talking about everything under the sun. I remember texting one of my best friends and saying, "I think I'm in love..." Our engagement was a dream come true for me. Dalton knew that I always wanted a private, intimate engagement with just the two of us. We had planned to take fall pictures on his family farm. We had been dating for almost seven years at this point, so of course, I was hoping this would be the day we would get engaged. I was soooo nervous the entire week leading up to our photos. We arrived, took photos for what felt like hours, and then our photographer said we were doing the "last pose." My heart immediately sank and I knew I wasn't getting engaged that day. Our last pose involved Dalton coming up behind me and giving me a hug. I was facing away from him and waiting for the hug, but Dalton tapped me on the back, and I turned around and he was on one knee! That was easily the top 3 moments of my entire life. - Kelsey
