Kelsey and Charles met while studying at The Boston Conservatory.
We were dance partners and friends first. Growing closer as time went on and soon everyone in the dance department was wondering when we would get together. Throughout our college careers we not only danced together but we worked part time jobs on Newbury St together, biked home to Mission Hill together, attended scholarship galas together, and most importantly we confided in each other. Senior year we finally gave in to the undeniable gravitational pull that was always there between us. We dated that year and even though we then went separate ways after graduation, we both had a place in our hearts for each other that no one could fill.
Both of us moved to New York shortly after graduation on our own individuals paths. A few years later in NYC we came back into each others lives and haven't separated since. Falling in love with your best friend really is a gift- we knew that the second time around and we weren't letting go of one another this time. We lived together for a bit in the city before Charles accepted a position in Dallas. For six months we did long distance- falling asleep on Facetime and waking up on Facetime. Kelsey then moved to Dallas, Mia too of course.
In Dallas, we really grew as a couple, as a little family. Being in a new city by ourselves we had to learn to lean on each other in a completely new way. We made so many amazing memories together in Dallas, celebrating holidays together, vacationing to new places, living through a pandemic together, new career paths and so much more. We really became each others home. A few years later we'd fill up the U-Haul and head down to Houston. A New city for us but always remaining each's other constant. Exploring the city on long walks with Mia, date nights at new restaurants, pool days during the unbearable summers, and unlimited birria tacos.
On our family vacation down Cape May in 2023, Charles popped the question. With both of our families there either in person or via skype it was such a special moment for us to share with our loved ones cheering us on from near and far in such a special town.
We are so excited for this new chapter, as fiancé's moving back to the east coast, planning our wedding, and excited to lay down roots and grow our little family.
We can't wait to celebrate with y'all!
