2019 First Dates and Football

Nick and I met the summer of 2019 at OU in the weight room. I stayed on campus after freshman year to train and he was in summer training with football. We started dating the 21st night of September (yes, for real) after hanging out all summer. That summer we had our first date, first kiss, and first I love you. Our first official couple photo came the next week after their win over Buffalo!

2020 COVID and Vacations

Nick and I went on our first vacation together over spring break to Florida in 2020. In the middle of the trip, we found out we would not be able to return to campus due to COVID-19. After another week of spring break, Nick went back to Kentucky to his parents house at the time and I went back to Columbus to my parents. Over summer, we went on vacation to Lake Cumberland to see each other for the first time since the out-break. In the fall, only some students, including us and other athletes, were allowed to return to campus for the semester.

2021 Senior Seasons and Date Parties

Nick and I returned to our first normal semester back on campus since Fall of 2019. We were both entering our senior seasons with our respective teams. Nick celebrated his football senior night and we went to our first date party together! Neither of knew at the time what we wanted to do after the next spring semester, but we were just happy to spend time together on campus with no restrictions.

2022 Graduations and Real Life

Nick and I had our biggest year in 2022. I walked on senior night, graduated, and decided last minute to return to Athens to start my strength and conditioning career and pursue my masters degree. Nick competed in Pro Day at OU, attended Pro Day with the Colts, accepted a job at PNC, and moved to Cleveland. And with that move to Cleveland, Nick and I started doing long distance so we could both pursue our careers. On the bright side, we also adopted our dog Maverick!

2023 Graduation (again) and a Move

Nick and I entered our second year of long distance in 2023. I graduated with my Masters degree and started working as a full time professor to stay in Athens and continue on with strength and conditioning. Nick transferred offices and moved to Indianapolis for work. We spent every minute we could together going to weddings, golfing, getting coffees, and celebrating holidays together.

2024 New Beginnings

Nick and I continued to pursue our careers and visit each other as much as possible. I finished at OU in May and moved to Indianapolis to intern and look for jobs so we could be together. We spent the summer going to Pacers games, to Olympic trials, out golfing, going to concerts, and getting way to many iced coffees. At our annual lake trip over the fourth of July, Nick asked my parents for their blessing without me knowing. He spent the next five months planning his proposal. In the meantime, I accepted a full time position at Akron as an assistant strength coach and moved. Over Christmas break, Nick asked to marry him and I said yes!
