Our love Story

Aaron and I met in October 2019 while he was going to school at George Fox. I live in the Eugene area and so for our first date we decided to meet halfway for dinner. We instantly hit it off and connected over the things we have in common. After dinner we were about to say our goodbyes and go our separate ways when Aaron realized he locked his keys in his truck. I then drove him 2 hours round trip to get his spare set of keys. I didn’t mind at all though because it was a great 2 hours spent with him and there was never a dull moment. I’m still convinced to this day that he locked his keys in his truck on purpose to spend more time with me haha. We continued to go on dates and enjoy each others company and then covid hit, the dorms shut down and Aaron had to move back to Washington. What was our 1 hour and 45 minutes away from each other turned into 4 hours and 30 minutes. We made the distance work though and only grew closer. We enjoyed our time spent together more than anything and cherish every moment we had. Last summer Aaron moved back to Oregon to be closer to me and it has been amazing. I grew up competitively downhill skiing and Aaron enjoys snowboarding so during the winter we love to do that together. At the beginning of July I went on a trip with his family to Alaska (his parents grew up there and his grandma still currently lives there). Our first day in Alaska his family and I drove out to a Ski resort where we too a Tram to the top of the mountain. After awhile of spending time with one another and taking pictures Aaron got down on one knee and purposed. I have never told anyone but because of starting skiing when I was 2 and growing up doing it I often would imagine getting purposed to on the top of a mountain when I was a little girl. Without Aaron knowing that he still managed to not only make my dreams come true, but my younger self’s dream come true. That just proves to me that when you truly love someone they know you better than you know yourself.
