Our favorite love story 

We have had a whirlwind of a love story that started on May 4th 2023 via a dating app, met in person two weeks later, first said “I love you” June 4th 2023, moved in together October 2023, engaged in the mountains in May 2024! Ethan was driving from Mississippi to move to Buena Vista, CO when we first started talking. We essentially have been inseparable since and have experienced all Colorado has to offer together. We initially talked for hours via text and phone for about two weeks before we finally had our first date in person in Minturn, Colorado, when an afternoon date lasted until after midnight. Ethan would write love letters every day we spent apart. Every time Ethan would come to Aspen for a date night, it would turn into 3-4 date days and onwards until he was nearly a full time Aspen resident. Our first time camping together was less than a month after meeting each other and Ethan joined all of Kelsey's closest friends for a proper roasting. There was a humorous moment when Kelsey learned he took sleeping meds after mistaking him for being dead. Since then every backpacking, hiking, camping, biking, hockey, skiing, pickleball and fishing adventure have been nothing less than entertaining and fulfilling. Ethan learned quickly the dangers of 14ers as well as the excitement of summiting. Kelsey learned quickly about the southern ways…their food, mannerisms, as well as endearing one-liners. Oliver is our fur-child joining along on all the fun (always!) and will follow Ethan around with every move he makes. We are often traveling around Colorado from Aspen to BV to Vail and Denver with many adventures scattered in-between. Together we have found the perfect balance of enjoying each other's company both on the top of mountain peaks, as well as sitting on the couch reading or watching movies, especially true crime. We have found our home in the mountains and cannot wait to start our life together!

Western flare encouraged, we want this to be a night where you get dressed up for our big day! Remember to bring layers as it can get chilly in the evening and sunscreen during the day. The ceremony will be outdoors, keep that in mind for shoes.

Parking

On-site & shuttle service available

There are a few parking spots for guests both at the ceremony site as well as the reception barn which is about a 1/2 mile up the road.   The shuttle service will be taking guests from Salida to the venue as well as to the barn after the ceremony and back to Salida at the end of the night.

Weather

The average temperature in Salida in June is a high of 73 degrees and a low of 41 in the evenings. Weather can fluctuate quickly in Colorado with a chance of afternoon rain, always plan to bring extra layers such as a light jacket or rain gear.

Elevation

Salida's elevation is 7,083ft above sea level, make sure to drink plenty of water, apply sunscreen frequently, and watch alcohol consumption.

Children

We love your little ones, we really do! However due to many factors, we respectfully request no children the night of our wedding. Breast feeding mamma’s can of course be accommodated. We hope you take this opportunity to enjoy a date night with your significant other or to yourself. We really appreciate you making prior arrangements. Children are welcome to the welcome party Friday and Sunday brunch festivities.

Denver airport to salida is just under a 3 hour drive, renting a car is recommended.

Denver International Airport

This is a smaller airport that is about 2 hours from Salida, would also suggest renting a car.

Colorado Springs Airport

Shuttle will start by doing a pick up at 4pm at the Hampton inn and a second shuttle will pick up at 4:30 in downtown Salida (F street bridge). There will also be a ceremony to reception shuttle up the hill to the barn from 5:30-6:30. End of night shuttle will be between 9:30-11:30pm, try to ride with groups that are staying in similar locations. Shuttles depart every 30min.
