Matthew and Kelsey met while working as Camp counselors at a summer camp in Athens, Ohio. Matthew made Kelsey a tied-dyed shirt and gifted to her on the first day of camp! Soon after, Matthew asked Kelsey on a date. Kelsey, being oblivious ( and a bit nervous to be around the guy she had a crush on) , continued to invite co-workers along, not knowing that Matthew was asking her out. With the help of some friends, Matthews persistence prevailed. They finally went on a bowling date, and then a sushi date, and by the time the went to they Pub to watch the Bachelorette, Kelsey knew he was the one.

Matthew and Kelsey visited the state fair in Columbus, Ohio. Kelsey volunteered Matthew to do the log roll at The Lumberjack show. Don't worry, she didn't make him do it alone! After they were both thoroughly soaked, they spent the rest of their day being recognized by people who watched the show! Some still say that they are fair royalty to this day! Kelsey and Matthew still visit the state fair when ever they can!

Covid hit! Matthew survived his last few months of college during lock down. Mathew and Kelsey both had to navigate online teaching ( often at the same time!) They learned a lot about each other in quarantine, but mostly that anything can be made better with love.

Matthew, Kelsey, Tex, Darrow and Sunny packed up all their belongings and moved to Colorado! The move was scary at first, finding new jobs and friends in the middle of a pandemic. Matthew and Kelsey had each other, and sooner rather than later they absolutely fell in love with their new home.

Once Kelsey and Matthew were settled in their new home, they decided that they should explore the Wild West. They ventured off on a 2 month long road trip, encompassing 5 national parks, 4 states, and many friends and family met along the way.

Matthew and Kelsey finally learn how to snowboard ( and ski if your not as cool). After some pretty gnarly wipe outs, Kelsey almost calling ski patrol and Matthew almost breaking his neck, they finally no longer look like Jerry's.

The itch for adventure returned to Matthew and Kelsey! They took a week road trip up to Glacier National Park in Montana. They hiked and camped deep in grizzly country and came out alive. Luckily, Matthew didn't make Kelsey watch 'The Night of The Grizzly's' until the car ride home.

Matthew and Kelsey spent their 3 year anniversary climbing to the top of Pikes Peak. They enjoyed the morning by watching the sunrise and eating fresh high altitude donuts.

Skiing, adventures and climbing 14er's continued into 2023. Matthew became a lacrosse and football coach, and Kelsey found her self spending many of her weekends cheering at Cheyenne's stadium.

Kelsey and Matthew welcomed a new fur baby to the family. Bean, the wild child, was officially adopted into their family.

Kelsey and Tex set off on the Colorado Trail! Matthew didn't get off easy! He delivered new water filters, answered late night Sat phone texts, delivered food and gave Kelsey countless words of encouragement. She carried his words in her backpack and read them every night on trial. Every step she took, she knew Matthew had her back.

Matthew led Kelsey on an early morning post- Thanksgiving hike. At the top of a snow dusted mountain, he asked Kelsey to marry him. Kelsey, of course, said yes. She couldn't image spending her life with anyone else. They spent the rest of the day celebrating with friends and family.

Matthew and Kelsey, engaged and ready to take on the world, spent their summer traveling. They visited the Grand Tetons and Yellow Stone National Parks. They also traveled to Ohio and went back to the state fair that started it all. They drove out to North Carolina and spent a wonderful weekend of fun at the Nutter Family Reunion.
