Reno-Tahoe International Airport is the closest commercial airport, just about a 45 minute drive to the venue sans traffic. Other surrounding airports include Sacramento (1.5-2 hour drive), Oakland (2.5-3 hour drive) or San Francisco (3 hour drive).

Car rental & carpooling are the way to go! If you are unable to arrange a car rental, there are taxis and Ubers available to get you where you need to go, but keep in mind that taxis and ride-shares are not the most reliable once you're up at the lake.

While we highly recommend staying in Olympic Valley, we understand if you want to be closer to the lake. If so, Tahoe City has plenty of hotels and rentals to choose from and is about a 10-20 minute drive depending on traffic. In the other direction from Palisades is Truckee, which is also super charming and is about a 15-20 minute drive from the venue. We are just about smack dab in the middle of the two. For something a little closer, Alpine Meadows is just about a 5-10 minute drive from our venue with a similar mountain-feel to Palisades.

It's definitely something to take into consideration. We would recommend getting into town at least 2 days prior to the wedding if you are not used to being at higher elevations or are unsure of how your body will adjust. Lake Tahoe is situated at 6,200 feet, and the reception venue is at 8,200 feet. We suggest taking things slow upon arrival, drinking lots of water and resting as needed.

Yes. If they are not on your invitation, be sure to reach out to us ahead of time and let us know if they are coming along so we can make dinner arrangements for them as needed.

July in Tahoe is a magical time of year. You can expect the daytime temps to be around mid to high 70s and lows in the 50s at night. Be sure to get a strong sunscreen!

This is one of the busier times of the year at the lake coming out of the Fourth of July weekend. Carpool if/when possible, look into using public transportation (TART), and give yourself plenty of time to get to and from places if you make plans to do something! This area has one way in and one way out.
