A tale as old as time, and a favorite romance trope comes to life with a real life friends to lovers situations. Jake and Kelsey met in 2017 in the halls at UML waiting for class to start. Jake was doing what he always does, talking, and Kelsey was doing what she always does, eavesdropping. When Kelsey inserted herself into the conversation she knew she would become friends with Jake. From that moment, Kelsey DM'd Jake on what was Twitter asking for his number to go to a party he was hosting. What a grave mistake for Jake giving Kelsey his number because his phone has not stopped blowing up with text messages since. It took 9ish months for the stars to align and for Jake to finally make a move on Kelsey....drunk in front of all of their friends. Low and behold a few awkward days after that but he finally asked her on some really awkward dates. Fast foward to July 2, 2018 and Jake asked Kelsey to be his girlfriend, how old fashioned of him.

Their love has stood the test of time with long distance in Minnesota and Maryland, nursing school breakdowns, first job breakdowns, and living with the parents.

On September 1, 2024 after chickening out a few times prior, Jake FINALLY proposed to Kelsey on a hot as heck walk with Kelsey wearing a Harry Potter shirt, hair in a bun, and paint on her spandex shorts. Needless to say it was quite the surprise he planned.

From dancing in the cages at The Blue Sham, to eating bread in his bed during the famous Varney house parties, these two are ready to continue their journey through life together as husband and wife.
