Ben and Kelsi had many chances to meet before they did. Through shared stories they found they went to the same summer camps as kids, shared friends and acquaintances, originally went to UNM for the same undergrad, and frequently spent time within a 3-mile radius of one another. However, it wasn’t until the spring of 2014 that their paths finally crossed. Both out with their friends they met while leaving a local watering hole on a warm Saturday night. Neither was looking for a relationship at the time but the world had other plans. Shortly after meeting they were talking non-stop, going on dates, and became inseparable. Ben passed the test by being accepted by Kelsi’s two dogs, the most important acceptance coming from Dax. Kelsi passed the test by enjoying camping and fishing, maybe even more so than Ben. After facing another round of college together and a global pandemic, they knew if they could make it through those things, they could make it through anything.

Ben popped the question the summer of 2021 at one of the couples most cherished camping spots in Colorado. Lots of celebrating, laughter, and maybe some tequila was shared that night.
