The year was 2020, the world was in chaos, and amid the pandemic, an assistant project manager was told he had to escort the 'marketing girl' through a construction site as she photographed updates of the new building. This was the first time Jackson Heard laid eyes on Kelsie Anderson. At least, that's what Jackson says. Kelsie vaguely remembers this moment, except for photographing an incredible view from the rooftop of a building before being sternly told she was "too close to the edge." Over the year, Jackson and Kelsie's jobs would increasingly cause them to cross paths. Work-related discussions led to small talk and small talk evolved into conversations. Whispers and rumbles from colleagues alluded to the two being a great pair. After some moral support and encouragement from friends, magic sparked. In December 2021, Jackson officially asked Kelsie on their first date. Their first date soon became their second, then their third, and before they knew it, they were with each other almost every day. Fast forward to Spring 2023, when Jackson visited Kelsie's grandfather, John Lamonski. While at his bedside alone one morning, Jackson asked for her grandpa's blessing. To which her grandpa said, "I'll think about it." Jackson sat in an awkward silence trying to understand what this meant. That afternoon, Jackson, Kelsie, Grandma June, Lydian June, Aunt Tina, and Angie (Kelsie's mom) surrounded Grandpa John's bed for the family prayer. At the end of the prayer, Grandpa John made a memorable announcement. "Before everybody goes, I want each and every one of you to know that earlier today, Jackson asked for Kelsie's hand in marriage," Grandpa John paused, while looking at everybody around him and smiled. "As each of you as my witness, and in case anything happens, my answer is yes." Everybody joyfully smiled and gasped. However, Jackson was the most surprised of us all, having unexpectedly received the blessing in front of his girlfriend and most of her family. This moment continues to be treasured as Grandpa John gained his angel wings a couple of months later. Regardless of the peaks or valleys life brings, Jackson and Kelsie have somehow found the magic that allows them to smile, laugh, love, and simply be there for one another. Life has a funny way of bringing people together. From co-workers to Mr. and Mrs. Heard, Jackson and Kelsie are elated to welcome you to celebrate this milestone together.
