Without any warning your soulmate finds you.
It was a hot day in July when she first saw him, and though they didn't even speak there were a few things she could tell even from a distance. He was kind, well respected, and more talented than anyone else she'd ever seen. Most people in his place would walk in with a cloud of arrogance and assume the reputation others gave them, but not him, he walked in with inner confidence and accepted the reputation his work afforded him. Weeks passed in its typical summer fashion on a hot stage until all the stars aligned and an opportunity presented itself for the two to finally speak.
It was on a breeze-less summer night after a dress rehearsal that she got a priceless opportunity after rehearsal noticing that they had parked right next to each other and on the way out struck a a conversation with her brilliant and witty opening line and said "Hey, you... uh... you sounded good tonight". From there a conversation struck up and continued for hours in that park, they talked about everything from music, art, family, ideas, dreams, and eventually had realized that hours had gone by. Sad that their time had come to part he asked her "Are you hungry? Do you want to go get some food?". Her excited "Yeah!" almost echoed as he smiled and led the way.
The only place worth a damn and open at 3 A.M. was Josie's, where they continued their conversation and she began to wonder. Is this a date? Does he think it's a date? Have I been talking his ear off and this poor guy is just being super nice and thinks I'm crazy? But fate stepped in and answered for her. The waitress came to ask if they were splitting the check and she jumped to say they were splitting but when they went to the register he went to pay his ticket first and the server accidentally gave him her ticket. His reply brought a flutter to her heart "that's ok, I wanted it to be my treat". After that they said their goodnight's and goodbye's until the next day's rehearsal. After that her heart skipped every time she saw him and after their first weekend of shows they went out with the rest of the case for dinner. They sat across from each other in the middle of a giant table of people and couldn't take their attention away from the other, though their friends valiantly attempted to bring them into the conversation. As everyone began to disburse the sadness of separation registered on her face and he asked if she'd like to continue their conversation over coffee. The opportunity was not wasted, she rushed home to throw everything she owned into the only closet of her one room apartment and tried her best to fool him into thinking she wasn't the world's biggest slob while he got coffee and headed over. They spent the rest of the evening talking about a show, she could and did listen to him talk about music all night. Though the coffee was good it was no match for their already long night and she fell asleep on his shoulder on the couch. Waking up still on his shoulder, he never moved, not wanting to disturb her rest until the morning.
From there the rest is history, they dated, moved in together, they laughed, they cried, they fought, they came together, and finally they decided to start the rest of their lives together. And that's where they are today, beginning their lives surrounded by the most wonderful and loving family and friends in the world.
