Please feel free to consult your stylist or wear whatever you have in your closet that says, "I'm here to party". Make sure you'll look & feel good in pictures and will be cool and comfortable all day. It is likely to be a warm, August day and evening, so don't be afraid to wear shorts and sandals that look good! Nothing is too colorful and we want everyone to feel great with whatever they're wearing, multiple outfit changes are highly encouraged! There is a lot of grass area but the house is nestled on a slight hill and there is uneven terrain, so keep that in mind if you need more sturdy footwear support!
Swimwear and a towel: The property has a wading pool for anyone that floats when they're warm, so feel free to bring some swimwear and a towel as it will likely be a "suns out, guns out" day in Washington.
Please note that this is intended to be an adult themed party in an open woodsy setting with adult beverages and potential for environmental hazards and unsavory language. We therefore kindly ask that small children are left cared for elsewhere so their parents can cut loose!
If teenagers insist on coming, please let us know ahead of time and also update us on any new 'hip' terminology to uncomfortably use with them, such as 'cap', 'mid', 'glizzy', etc. We will also have a small space set aside for them to attend to screen time and social media, with wi-fi that is deliberately unreliable and nearly impossible to connect to.
We ask that people do not bring their dogs or other pets as we will already have some furry friends running around loose (See PHOTOS) including our dog Kaya (who would prefer to not be touched) and our nephew dogs Wilson & Ivan (who would love to have attention and pets!).
We kindly insist that you PLEASE DO NOT FEED ANY HUMAN FOOD OR DRINKS TO THE DOGS, which would surely cause them to have bowel issues/discomfort and we would prefer to go into our honeymoon without dealing with any such issues. We will have dog treats available if you would like to share something, just ask us! Please also be sure to properly dispose of any uneaten food, especially anything with bones or that an unwatched pup may try to sneak off with. If you see any dog poop, please let us know so we can pick it up quickly before anyone steps in it!
We will have a photographer for a short period of time, but also welcome everyone to take as many photos as you would like, especially if you have a great camera or phone camera! We will have an online Dropbox available for everyone to share their photos after the event!
Please note that we are not social media type of folks and are private about what we share publicly online, so don't worry about 'tagging' us in any posts as we would prefer to keep these memories for those involved and not the entire internet!
There will be a LOT of vehicles and anyone that is nearby and able, we invite you to Uber/Lyft if possible but understand that is not always an option.
For those that way have trouble walking up the steep driveway (please see photo, which will be updated without crayon marks as we approach the event), or are unsteady on uneven terrain, there will be space at the very top of the drive way in front of the house to left for you to park. Save that energy for the dance floor! Please reach out to the bride or groom with any questions.
You may park along the driveway or in the upper back yard.
Upper back yard parking: Go up the driveway and when you go through the gate, take a left, and go forward. (we are trying to keep the parking closest to the house, open for those who may have trouble walking up the hill).
If you park along the driveway, feel free to drive all the way to the top and drop off your friends and items. You may then turn around and park facing down the driveway, this will make for an easier departure.
