Kendall and Matt first met at Driftmier Engineering Center on UGA's campus. One dreary Sunday afternoon, they found themselves both at Driftmier with Matt working on building structural simulation project for a class and with Kendall working on building a food pantry/ donation shelf for one of her club positions.

To gain access to the part of Driftmier that houses the woodworking tools, Kendall's access card was not working and Matt was working in a nearby classroom on his project (that was not going well) for his ID card to get into the "Fab Lab". Matt passed his card off without a thought and went back to his work. Kendall, acting surprised that he volunteered his card so nonchalantly told Matt her name in case she did not bring it back.

She brought the card back and thanked Matt. Matt knew her name then... and thought she was the cutest thing he had ever seen. Even though (anyone that knows Kendall may verify this) that she never was one to "dress up" much to go to Driftmier. Hair in a mess, not exactly flattering UGA Equestrian T-Shirt and the curiosity in Matt had been set on fire.
