Dining

We recommend checking restaurant hours and making dinner plans accordingly as most restaurants close relatively early.

Sand Bar - Casual seafood shack on the beach (you can even sit in the sand). They are famous for their whiskey selection, live music inside & outside AND the original Amelia Island Pier forms the structure of the restaurant interior.

Salt Life - Modern seafood spot along the North end of the island. Located next to the beach and a classic mini-golf course this is a great spot to get there early for a beach photo before dinner. (Jack's fave is the Boca Grouper dish!)

Sliders - Great beachfront restaurant also along the North end of the island. You're sure to find great live music on the back deck most nights. You HAVE to try their famous pineapple casserole too! Word on the street is they have a mean brunch menu too.

Boathouse - Seafood spot in Downtown Fernandina with an awesome outdoor ambience with live music every weekend.

Salty Pelican - Seafood spot in Downtown Fernandina with AWESOME sunset views over the docs. We recommend getting "in line" via Yelp to expedite the wait - but trust us, this place is worth the wait! (K's fave is the blackened shrimp tacos & spicy marg!)

Peppers - Mexican restaurant located in Downtown Fernandina with classic margs and Mexican dishes.

Wicked Bao - Asian fusion, located on the edge of Downtown Fernandina - We love getting our food to go and eating at the picnic tables by the docs downtown.

Shuckers - Seafood spot that's great for larger groups. Located at the bridge to the Island, we recommend grabbing a table outside overlooking the Marsh as boats come in and out of the Island. They often have live music outside on the weekends too!

Down Under - An oldie but a goodie seafood spot. Kendall has grown up coming to this restaurant over the years - located under the bridge to the Island and offers a great spot for watching the boats come in as well. (You HAVE to try their hush puppies).

Kitchen 251 - Hole in the wall Seafood spot located on the Marsh. J & K recommend grabbing a table for the perfect view of the sunset over the Marsh for dinner.

Timoti's Seafood Shack - Some of the best seafood burgers & bowls ever. A limited menu, but super casual we could not love this place more - located in Downtown Fernandina. Great family-friendly spot for the littles with food served outside at picnic tables complete with a pirate playground for the kids.

Ciao Italian Eatery - Intimate, upscale bar & eatery with Italian pasta & seafood dishes in Downtown Fernandina.

Arte's Pizza - Italian restaurant located in Downtown Fernandina with great wood-fire pizzas.

Mezcal - Downtown Fernandina's newest restaurant with upscale Mexican and fine dining (and our favorite Mexican cuisine spot on the island!)

Burlingame - Intimate, sophisticated eatery featuring modern & seasonal American dishes, plus patio tables in Downtown Fernandina - we recommend Burlingame for a nice date night spot!

The Verandah - Located on Omni Amelia Island Resort we love this elegant restaurant for it's sophisticated ambiance, impeccable menu and great views of the Tennis Center - Enjoy fine seafood, with dishes like seafood carbonara, filet and lobster, grilled mahi mahi, swordfish, ahi tuna, seafood tower and more.

Falcon's Nest - Located on Omni Amelia Island Resort this is one of our favorites for burgers and beers. This family-friendly pub pays homage to civil and military aviation (bonus points if you can find the photo of Kendall's great-grandpa, Wink Davis Sr).

Marché Burette is a French-style restaurant & gourmet market. Step back in time at the grocery and wine shop featuring a variety of products. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every Friday from 5-9pm is Steak Out with live music, libations, steak and more!

Activities Besides the Beach

Family-Friendly Options:

Fantastic Fudge - The name speaks for itself. Enough said. Stop by during the day and you can watch them make the fudge!

Gregor MacGreggors Mini-Links & Drinks - A fun mini-golf spot in Downtown Fernandina. We love going here after dinner. There's a playground and a two-story bar/patio with TVs, drinks and small bites too.

Island Falls Adventure Golf - An exciting mini-golf spot that we have frequented on many Amelia Island dates. This dynamic course is surrounded by water (even a waterfall) that makes the course even more fun.

Tanner Time - If you're staying on Omni Amelia Island Resort, be sure to check out the "Weekly Activity Sheet" posted in the local shops at the Resort as well as in the hotel lobby. One of our favorites is "Tanner Time" where kids can get free popsicles around 1pm by the pool at the Omni.

Nature Center at the Omni - If you're looking to get out of the sun, we recommend checking out the nature center. They have many reptiles and critters - and even have a talking parrot too! Be sure to ask them if you can feed the turtles in the lagoon nearby and they will give you some turtle food.

Amelia Wheels - If you're staying on the Resort grounds, we highly recommend renting bikes for a few hours. They also offer golf cart rentals and even do Segway tours. These rentals are the best ways to check out some of our favorite spots on the Plantation including Walkers Landing, Drummond Point Park and the Sunken Forest.

Kayak Amelia - A great family/friend group activity. They offer guided and self-guided tours throughout the marsh for kayaks and canoes. We love the self-guided tour as you get to stop on a tidal beach and swim around. You'll need a car to get here as they're located on the South end of the island.

Adult-Friendly Options:

Palace Saloon - Florida's oldest bar (1903) where Kendall and Jack have spent New Years with friends a few times. This multi-room bar located in Downtown Fernandina offers a variety of live music both indoors and outdoors.

Green Turtle Tavern - Cocktails and live music in Downtown Fernandina with a fun patio space.

PJD's Beer & Wine Garden - A local spot and hole-in-the wall with more beer and wine options than you can imagine. Great for small groups and often has live music.

The Decantery - Craft cocktails, charcuterie and dessert. A classy late night date spot located in the heart of Downtown Fernandina.

Amelia Sunset Cruises - Kendall's biggest Amelia Bucket-List item. Bring your own drinks and snacks and enjoy live music on a boat during sunset. We recommend booking in advance. Check out their website for their family-friendly options as well.

A 10-hole short course - for golfers of all skill levels. Kendall & Jack love playing this course and enjoying their patio where they offer drinks and a view to watch the golfers on the putting course that's a part of Little Sandy. Afterwards, don't forget to walk around the Shops at AIP and grab some Rocky Road Ice Cream (or a meal) at Marche Burette
