A tale as old as smartphones, Jonathan and Kendall met on Bumble. After some witty banter, the two decided to meet at a swanky cocktail bar, planned and suggested by Jonathan, being the gentleman he is.

Within moments of sitting down, the awkwardness had passed and the two were settling between funny stories and not-so-small talk. That was until the bill came. Again being a gentleman, Jonathan quickly offers the waiter his card, only for it to be promptly returned to him, along with a DECLINED receipt. After some red-faced assurances that there was certainly an error, Kendall offered to cover drinks, as Jonathan stammered that tacos were on him at the next stop of the evening.

Without a beat, the two were back to exchanging lively conversation over food and another round of drinks. Once again, the bill came and the night was coming to a close. Jonathan, on his arc toward redemption, once again gives the waiter his card.

What Jonathan did not know was that before this December 1st evening, Chase Bank had been attempting to contact him regarding his upcoming November 30th expiration. If Jonathan had opened the many letters he received in the weeks prior, he would not be in the predicament he is in at this very moment... but back to the story.

Predictably, Jonathan's card is declined again, and once again, Kendall the feminist offers to cover the bill. Jonathan is very embarrassed at this point and feels the need to remind Kendall that he is, in fact, not a homeless person. Kendall might have very well believed him, but when they left the restaurant, she asked where he parked, to which he replied "My car was totaled recently and I took a scooter. Could you give me a ride home?"

Kendall might have ended that date by thinking she did a good deed of charity for a local poor soul, but Jonathan immediately told his roommate that he would make Kendall his girlfriend. And he did after he sent her a Venmo for their date, and maybe a date or two more on him to prove himself.

Kendall and Jonathan went on to learn more about each other throughout the dozen trips they went on together in their first year of dating. They discovered Jonathan's patience is high, even when Kendall takes them to the wrong airport in London and they miss a flight to Spain. Kendall learned to love Jonathan's favorite music, though it does not always have a rhyme or reason to it, specifically Phish. But most of all, Kendall and Jonathan unveiled that their happiness shows no bounds, and they are incredibly excited to spend the rest of their lives together, experiencing everything the world has to offer.
