Theron and Kendall officially met at an Idalou High School football game. Kendall was a student at Talkington, an all-girls school in town, and was tagging along to watch over her sister Kate, with friends who were dating Idalou boys. That night sparked a brief interaction—but it wouldn’t be the last.

The following summer, fate stepped in again. Both ended up lifeguarding at the Ransom Canyon pool, where their friendship began to grow…and so did the flirting. As it turns out, one of Theron’s best friends, Nick Zahn, also happened to be Kendall’s neighbor, which gave them yet another reason to cross paths.

Over the years, summers came and went. Even after Theron moved on from lifeguarding, their connection stayed strong. Then, in the fall of 2019, Theron invited Kendall to one of his very first open mic nights at Sugar Browns Coffee. That led to more adventures: corn maze dates, riding Lime scooters around the Texas Tech campus, and late-night stops at Menchie’s—until Theron finally worked up the courage to kiss Kendall that December.

The rest, as they say, is history.
