It all started in 2016, when Kendra first saw Steven at a day party at Saint John's University. She knew right away that he was the one. For Steven, though, it took a little more time. Over the years, we stayed in touch through Facebook messages, Snapchat, and hanging out with mutual friends. We both had our own adventures—Steven in Colombia, and Kendra in Thailand. Never quite with the right timing. But then came the endless coffee walks, trips together, and even more adventures. We traveled, moved in together, got engaged, and here we are today. Seven years later, this invisible string that’s always connected us has led us to this moment: getting married!

Although their first meeting took place in 2016, fate was meant to wait. Kendra, in addition to being a world traveler and doctoral student, was otherwise tethered throughout the years – however, Steven’s love was undying, and he happily committed to playing the long game. During the spring of 2021, Steven finally got his chance. Having been talking more and more, Steven knew that Kendra would be nearby his house for an appointment on an upcoming Friday night. Secretly, Steven set up a reservation the week before at an Uptown speakeasy and casually asked Kendra out for drinks the day of. Luckily, Kendra accepted, and the night turned into multiple cocktails and hours of conversation, laughs, and memorable moments. From there, Steven and Kendra were inseparable and continued talking every single day (mostly over the phone because Steven hates texting!), leading to more date nights, morning coffee walks, camping trips, and every kind of date in between! Kendra and fate were well worth the wait.
