We understand that a lot of our guests will be from out of town and wanting to experience the charm of beautiful Charleston, SC. Michael and Kendra have included some different experiences around the area!
The Charleston City Market is a fun way to experience what used to be an old Meat Market in the 1800's. It is currently used for local vendors and artists to sell their art, jewelry, crafts, and more! It is one of the Bride's favorite spots in all of Charleston. This is the part of Downtown that Kendra fell in love with in 2017, her first trip to Charleston, that ultimately led her to Charleston.
Downtown Charleston has a rich history and there is no better way to see the beauty and hear the history of the city than to do a Charleston Horse Carriage Tour. There are multiple different options and are also near the Charleston City Market.
Charleston's symbol is the Pineapple and it represents the hospitality of the charming, friendly city! Charleston's most famous fountain is Pineapple Fountain, a couple blocks away from the market. It is right along the waterfront and is a perfect place for a photo opt! This is where Kendra and Michael's love story began with their first date, as well as where they got engaged!
If you are looking at checking out a beach when visiting Charleston, Sullivan's Island is a great spot! It is not too far from the hotels in Mount Pleasant and has one of the nicest beaches here! There are good bars and restaurants in their small downtown that are worth checking out! Home Team BBQ, Poe's Tavern or the Obstinate Daughter are the bride and groom's favorites food spots.
Boone Hall Plantation is one of America's oldest plantations still in operation today. Drive up the road by old Charleston Oak trees with the infamous hanging moss to the historic buildings where you can see what old plantation life used to be like. It is a blast and we definitely recommend checking Boone out if you have the time!
