Our Love Story

We began our love story as friends. In 2014, we both moved to Fredericton as strangers to attend university, where our residences were located beside each other. UNB is a small community so we luckily hung out in the same group of friends all four years of university. In 2016, to begin our third year of university, we both moved off campus where our houses were of course beside each other as well. It wasn’t until our fourth year of university in January of 2018 that we officially started dating. We both tried to play it cool for a while but in reality, we were head over heels almost instantly. We knew this was a forever type of thing. We had so much fun and laughter in everything we did together and that still holds true to this day, six and a half years later. We have continued to build our relationship on a foundation of friendship, love, trust, and companionship, and we cannot wait to celebrate our love with all of you on September 14th, 2024.

Special moments over the years

December 12th, 2017 – Our first official date at Snooty Fox Restaurant.

January 24th, 2018 – Zach declared (not asked) that I was his girlfriend at Isaac’s Way Restaurant. “I'm just buying my girlfriend supper” he said.

February 14th, 2018 – The first time we both said I love you to each other. I bought Zach a heart-shaped cookie that said “I love you” because I was too nervous to say it out loud.

May 17th, 2018 – We graduated from UNB. Zach graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.

July 19th, 2018 – Our first trip together to Toronto, Ontario!

September 3rd, 2018 – I moved to Halifax to go to X-ray school; we were starting what we thought was going to be three years of long distance.

March 2nd, 2019 – We went on a cruise to Mexico with my family.

June 30th, 2019 – I moved in with Zach and his best friend Liam for the summer in Sackville. I quickly realized that I was the third wheel in this situation, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way!

November 11th, 2019 – My first trip with the Snowdon’s to Las Vegas! Zach’s cousin convinced the receptionist at the hotel that Zach and I were twin siblings so she kindly switched our king size bed to two double beds for the week, thanks Nathan!

April 1st, 2020 – COVID hit and my school shut down in Halifax. We were not allowed to travel between provinces, so Zach and I moved into the side apartment at Nadine and Johnny’s house for a couple of months. We were so excited to buy our first ever “adult” purchase together – a new couch.

September 2nd, 2020 – Zach was still working from home due to COVID, so he moved to Halifax to live with me and my roommate Sara for my fall semester. Now, he was the third wheel to us girls.

January 3rd, 2021 – I had to do a clinical placement in Fredericton, so Zach and I hit the road again and luckily got to stay with my best friend Haley and now husband Mike for two months. This is when we were certain that Fredericton was where we wanted to live after I finished school.

March 1st, 2021 – Zach and I moved back to Halifax with Sara, where I finished my X-ray school. We loved living in a bigger city, but we were excited to get back to New Brunswick with our families!

August 26th, 2021 – We popped some champagne and spent our first night in our new home, in Fredericton!

October 17th, 2021 – Our hearts grew twice in size and our patience was tested more than ever when we brought home our first ever fur baby, Cely!

January 24th, 2022 – We celebrated half a decade together!

April 21st, 2022 – We went to an all-inclusive resort in Mexico to celebrate our friend's marriage!

February 19th, 2023 – The travel bug wasn’t going anywhere, we went to Florida and spent a couple of days exploring Disney World.

July 1st, 2023 – We went to Alberta to stay with Zach’s brother Josh and his girlfriend Kelsey. Zach had bigger plans than I expected for this trip.

July 3rd, 2023 – After taking the gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain in Banff, Zach got down on one knee and proposed to me. This was the easiest yes, and the best day of my life!

May 4th, 2024 - Took our engagement photos at New River Beach with our amazing photographer, Tori Claire.

May 25th, 2024 - Went on a pre-wedding trip to Italy, which inspired one of our drinks that will be found at the bar on our wedding day ;)

September 14th, 2024 – The day that I get to marry my best friend and start our life together as husband and wife!

To be continued…
