Jake and Kendyl met one fateful night at Cowboys dancehall in San Antonio TX. A friend of a friend of a bumble date that crashed a girls night introduced them. Jake couldn’t contain himself. “We taking shots?” He asked the group. “No thanks, I don’t take shots.” Was Kendyl’s reply. A few minutes later there he was in his peacock feather adorned cowboy hat with a round of pickle shots…the only shots Kendyl will take. She looked to her friends, “did y’all tell him to order these?” She glanced at him suspiciously. (Kendyl has always been leery of strange men buying her drinks) They took the shots, and Jake asked her to dance. They both wish they could remember now the song that started it all. The night went on, more shots, more dancing. Until they were catching their breath over some beers and Jake pulls a koozie out of his back pocket. “Randall King? You know him?” Kendyl exclaimed as she examined the koozie. She had been following the band for a while, and this was the second instance of the night that made her feel like she was being set up by the universe. Jake was just being Jake. “Oh yeah I’ve been following him for a while too, isn’t he great?” They continued talking and bonding over their shared love of music, which artists they’ve seen live, and who they want to see next. As the night ended, and the two stumbled to the parking lot, Jake and kendyl sealed the night with a kiss and an exchange of phone numbers. Little did they know this night was the start of something magical. The weeks and months that passed only reinforced the bond they created that night, and now here they are 3 years later.
