Our Story

Details

Bestie of the Bride- Native of Augusta, Ga. Kenitra met Joselyn while enrolled in the ALIA leadership program while employed at the VA Hospital. They chartered a Toastmaster club together. They have been planning events and encouraging each other ever since. Kenitra &amp; Jerold's wedding will almost be on the 3 year anniversary of Joselyn and her husband Will's wedding, which Kenitra directed.  Kenitra and Joselyn thank God put them together!! #TeamJos

Joselyn Merriweather

Stone Mountain, Ga. Jarrett is the identical twin and best friend of Jerold. Ever since they were younger, Jarrett and Jerold have always looked out for each other. As adults, their bond has continued to grow stronger. To Jerold, Jarrett has always been a "silent" motivator and being by his side on the day of Kenitra and Jerold's wedding is just the type of motivation Jerold will need to move into that next stage of his life.

Lithonia, Ga. Camonie (Monie) is the oldest brother to Jerold. When he was younger, Monie helped raise Jerold and his other siblings and has directly influenced the man Jerold is today. Monie has always been the strong, silent, and intimidating type. Beside the "silent" aspect of Monie's character, Jerold has always wanted to grow up to be like his brother. Every family has a "rock" or "foundation" and Camonie is that for this generation of the Mason clan.

Bestie of the BrideNative of Hartford, CTShe and Kenitra met their freshman year in DAVIDSON HALL at Hampton Univerisity. Carla had a most memorable moment talking with Kenitra on commencement weekend 2003. Carla saved  Kenitras life during their sophomore year at Hampton, she moved into Kenitras dorm room, and they have been inseperable ever since :-) #alwayssisters

Atlanta, Ga. Regis is the second oldest brother to Jerold. Growing up, Jerold would always go behind Regis,  trying to emulate who he was. Regis was an outstanding athlete and straight A student. Unfortunately, none of that athletic ability could be copied. As an adult, Jerold always noticed that Regis' was a hard worker and whether he knows it or not, Jerold has always tried to model his work ethic after his older brother. Jerold and Regis share a special bond - more special than any words can describe.

Native of Baltimore, MDBestie of the BrideAneisha (affectionately renamed BARB) also met Kenitra(whom she affectionately calls Mozelle) her freshman of at Hampton University, in DAVIDSON HALL. She too was apart of the "save kenitras life" committee sophomore year. Barb, Carla and Kenitra were the official squad during undergrad. #alwayssisters

Aneisha Tilghman

Stone Mountain, Ga. Marlon is the second father to Jerold's son Christian. Jerold has known Marlon for the better part eight years and in those years Marlon has become like an actual brother to Jerold. Whenever one of them is in need, the other is always willing to aid in any way he can. Jerold is honored to have Marlon as one of his groomsman.

Resident of New Ellenton, SCSister Nurse of the BrideShe and Kenitra met in 2010  working together as RNs  at the VA. After Kenitra accidentally googled Keisha and found good things, they have been struggling to end FaceTimes and phone calls. #SisterNurses

Alkeisha Davis

Kingdom Sister of the BrideNative of Lincolnton, GAShe and Kenitra were introduced by Darius. Kenitra prayed for local friends when she moved back from Hampton in 2008. Mashekia was the ANSWER to that prayer and they have been hanging tight EVER SINCE. Mashekia is Kenitra's road dog, concert hopping, new music finding everything Kingdom Turn Up sister!!! #teamMashe

Smyrna, Ga. Brandon and  Jerold are first cousins. Although they stayed on opposite sides of Atlanta, these two spent a considerable amount of time together. Whether it was pretending to be WWF super stars in the professional size wrestling ring in the driveway or just hanging out at family gatherings, the fondness of their time spent together  has always held a special place in Jerold's heart. There is nothing like having the most important people to you with you on a day as important as your  wedding day. Brandon definitely qualifies as a person Jerold would want by his side on May 14, 2016.

Native of Augusta, Ga/Williamsburg, VaLifeLong Sister of the Bride Daveta(Vet) met Kenitra in 1990, when their parents partnered in youth ministry. Kenitra was 5. Daveta was 8. She and Kenitra have been working together in ministry for 20 years. Daveta calls Kenitra her "Little Big Sister".  #TSA #MMYS

Augusta, Ga. From the beginning of their friendship, Kenitra has always filled Jerold's head and heart with loving and hilarious stories of her brother, Kenneth. From the moment he and Jerold met, Jerold could tell that the person Kenitra described was an accurate description of who he came to know. Jerold's desire is  for Kenneth to be his fifth brother and is looking forward to building lasting memories.   

Kenneth L. Johnson Jr. 

Native of Augusta, GA Cousin of the BrideRochele and Kenitra are almost twins, just born 361 days apart. They are first cousins but grew up like sisters. They have shared many memories from early childhood into adulthood. Matching Tommy Girl dresses, sleep overs, and Butler High School basketball games! They have journeyed together from childhood to adulthood to womanhood! #SisterCousin

Rochele Cosby

Christian is the first born from Jerold's loins. They say having children will make you more responsible, but Christian did so much more for Jerold. He was instrumental in developing Jerold into a mature man and father. Life truly begins when you have children and Christian is the testament to the beginning of Jerold's life. In being his child, Christian is also taking a big step on May 14, 2016. So, it is only right and necessary for Christian to be at his father's side.

Jr. BridesmaidAmia has been on Kenitras radar over a decade. Amia attends Kenitras church and is a wonderful mentee of hers. They have worked together in many fine arts areas(dance, step, piano, and rap). Amia affectionately calls Kenitra , Miss K  and Auntie K. Amia makes Ms. K extremely proud as she continues to keep God first and excel in her academics. #ECLCI #MMYS

Jay is the soon-to-be nephew to Jerold. He and Christian are the same age and have already begin to substantiate their friendship. Like with his other nephews, Jerold looks forward to guiding and coaching Jay in the way that he should go. From Kenitra's and Jerold's union, Jay can look forward to awesome family time surrounded by people who genuinely love him.

My'Asia has been Kenitra's "Hello Kitty Friend" since Alkeisha and Kenitra became friends. Kenitra has had the pleasure of supporting My'Asia since her 5th Grade graduation. My'Asia has participated in events with Kenitra for the MMYS Step Team. My'Asia is a star student ,an  athelete, and Jr Entrepreneur. Kenitra finds it an honor for her to serve as a Jr. Bridesmaid in her wedding.
