Kennedy’s POV

I don’t remember seeing Micah at PraiseWorks, but I do know that he was hanging out with my brother during camp. I found this out when he messaged me on Instagram a week later and asked “are you Jude’s sister?” I told him I was but when he kept pushing conversation I blew him off. I didn’t want to date anyone at the time. I told him we could be friends and nothing more and maybe we would date in college. However, he had other plans and after a few weeks of hanging out as friends I realized that he was exactly the guy I had been praying for my whole life. He soon left for college and I was worried that we wouldn’t be friends anymore and he would no longer make time for me. But I knew I liked him and I wanted to be more than friends someday. He surprised me when he called me almost every night and would meet me when he came home for a weekend. He consistently pursued me and made sure I knew what his intentions were. In on October 3, 2022 he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes. We did long distance throughout the school year which was very hard on both of us. In 2023 Micah decided he wanted to join the military and I graduated high school. I went to work at camp for the summer and he went to basic camp. We exchanged letters and he came to visit me at camp a couple times. Throughout the summer is when I became completely confident that he was the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I think he knew way before that though:) We started the school year at OBU very excited because it was the first time in our relationship we would not be long distance. We spent hours and hours studying together and making sonic runs and talking about our future. We knew we wanted to get married. Micah proposed over winter break on January 10, 2024 and obviously I said YES! We are so excited to begin this new chapter of our lives together as one and we are so glad you are a part of our lives and this special season!
