Hayden and Kennedy met in astronomy class at Lenoir-Rhyne University during their junior year in 2020. After a few months Kennedy invited Hayden to go ice skating, not knowing it would turn out to be their first date. When they returned to school the only thing that separated them was their classes and sports. Even then, Hayden spent his time in the bullpen watching Kennedy on the track and Kennedy spent her time watching Hayden on the field. The bond was quickly formed over the nights of Guitar Hero and Mario Kart battles. January 24, 2021, Hayden met Kennedy on campus with a ring pop in hand and a question on his mind, that night Kennedy said "yes" to being an official couple. As the years passed they stood by each other’s side through the struggles and successes of school and sports. They encouraged each other to be better and grow without restrictions. April 6, 2024, Hayden took Kennedy on a weekend trip to Sunset Beach. As the sun rose the next day Hayden had a new ring and a new question. On one knee Hayden proposed with a generational family ring. Kennedy said "yes" and their families surprised her that morning to celebrate. With the love they share and the happiness they bring to each other, Hayden and Kennedy cannot wait to spend the future continuing to grow together!
