Our Wedding

"Right." A word of many meanings, parts of speech, and definitions. 1) In accordance with what is good, proper, or just2) in conformity with fact, reason, truth or some standard or principle; correct3) fitting or appropriate; suitable4) most convenient, desirable, or favorable5) in a satisfactory state; in good order6) sound, sane, or normal7) in good health or spirits8) principal, front, or upper9) socially approved, desirable, or influential10) genuine; authentic The perfect word to define our entire story and future. So now we will let you decide which "right" we use throughout our story! Let's get "right" to it! It all began one fateful day in July of 2023. Kenneth and Shelby both were on a well known dating app. Neither had found just the "right" person when swiping left and "right".&nbsp;Then all of a sudden both receive a notification "right" on their phone. They had each gotten a new match!&nbsp; Almost immediately Shelby began to "write" to Kenneth asking "right" away what his religious beliefs were. Kenneth hoped to give the "right" answer, but also knew that he needed to be 100% "right" with himself by answering truthfully. After sharing some pretty deep thoughts, beliefs, and conversations early, they both felt like something was going just "right". They both knew that there were two ultimate ways that their match could go. 1) quickly find out if they are not "right" for each other and not become super involved/invested or 2) stay in it for the long haul and make sure to always communicate to make things "right".&nbsp; They proceeded to talk for about a month through text and snapchat. Kenneth and Shelby decided to meet for the first time on September 3rd of 2023 "right" in between their birthdays. They went to the Omaha Zoo and brought little miss Flora along with them. While the weather wasn't the most "right" for the trip, the love birds got stopped multiple times to be told that their little family looked just "right".&nbsp; The three of them ultimately left Omaha and started to head back to Kearney for some supper. They stopped "right" at San Pedro's which hit just the "right" spot in their stomachs. Shelby went to the restroom and little did she know that when she came "right" back she would be surprised with a birthday fried ice cream dessert! They finished the day off by dropping Kenneth "right" back off at his apartment in Elm Creek and then heading "right" back home to Indianola. Kenneth took the longest amount of time to leave the vehicle because he just didn't feel "right" getting out and ending what seemed like the most perfect and "right" day he had experienced ever. Over the course of the next two weeks they wouldn't see each other in person, but just continue talking over the phone, snapchat, and text. Kenneth went to a couple of events and some of his friends asked him what was wrong. He kept telling them that something just didn't seem quite "right". He so dearly missed Shelby and Flora and knew that he needed to see them again "right" away. Luckily, Shelby had a wedding for a cousin of hers in the middle of September that she needed just the "right" date to attend with her. She asked Kenneth to join which he was happy to even though he knew no one that was going to be attending other than Shelby. Little did Shelby know that Kenneth was waiting for just the "right" time to ask her the important question to start dating. On the night of September 15th he finally found the "right" moment to ask, and they have not spent a weekend separated since. They would make trips back and forth to see each other over the next several months. Shelby even traveled multiple times "right" next to Kenneth in the car all the way to Southern Illinois and back. Kenneth knew on those trips that things just felt "right" and told some of his closest family and friends that Shelby was the "right" one for him. Shelby was very confused how she could have ended up in the "right" place and the "right" time to be with a man that felt so "right" to her. She told her father, close family, and friends that things almost felt too "right" to be true. She got some great words of advice that sometimes when things feel too "right" we just need to look "right" up to God and say thank you. Kenneth was already searching for a house to move "right" into, but now his search had some extra input and people to consider. The little family looked for about 2 months and found just the "right" house for them to start building a home in Holdrege, Nebraska. Throughout January and February they all packed up their things "right" away. One day in March of 2024 Kenneth and Shelby went to McCook, NE to get lunch, but also stopped by Longnecker's Jewelry just to look around. While they were looking Shelby tried on a couple of different engagement rings that she thought were going to be just "right"; however, little did she know that the "right" ring for her was completely different from what she had envisioned. Time has passed and Kenneth began waiting for the "right" time to pop the question. There were many times Shelby though it was the "right" time, but Kenneth left her waiting. Shelby has never really enjoyed surprises, but Kenneth surprised her by throwing their pastor under the bus, just to then ask the "right" question. Shelby knew Kenneth was the "right" one for her, since the beginning. Kenneth and Shelby share a strong belief in our Lord and Savior; that has been the foundation and center of their relationship since the beginning. A bible verse that was engraved on a Christmas gift Shelby ordered for Kenneth in 2023, fits their journey to each other and for eternity, just "right". Isaiah 60:22"The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation. At the RIGHT time, I the Lord, will make it happen."
