Setting: Mason City, Iowa

Year: 2016

I was an 18 year old college student just beginning school at North Iowa Area Community College when I met Mike. Mike, a North Iowa Bulls hockey player, at the time, asked me out on a date after meeting her through mutual friends. After playing hard to get for a couple months, Mike's persistence paid off! After going on the most awkward first date ever (Apple Bee's and a movie...What a Midwestern dream), we decided to try one more time. The second date was filled with laughter, getting to know each other, and realizing we had just found our best friends. A few months later, Mike went through a traumatic car crash after leaving my parent's house. After being alongside him during his recovery and having some very serious conversations early on in our relationship, we found a lot of safety and security in our connection. We had truly found our homes! It started an extremely sound foundation for us that we luckily were able to build upon. Six years later, four moves, graduating college, finding careers, raising one puppy, and buying our first home, we're getting married! We couldn't be happier to have you all with us on the day we get to start a new chapter. It will be worth the wait!
