From Kensley ‘s perspective:
The first time I ever laid eyes on Kade was at a CCA Friend Day in I believe 2011. After he saw me on that day, he developed a crush and confided in my dear Gran that he had his eyes on me. I wouldn’t give him the time of day- how silly of me! We *technically* liked each other for a short period in 6th grade but I unfortunately broke up with him LOL.
Then, we rekindled in 7th grade and were have truly been inseparable ever since. I ate an unimaginable amount of shrimp in the early days of our relationship on our double dates with his parents; I never wanted them to spend too much on a meal for me and I always knew it would be good (my dad has jokingly always called me the market price child HAHA!). We would go on movie dates with friends at the classic Rockin 8 Cinemas during its prime. He would come over to all my family holidays and try his best to sink into the corner, only to be put in the middle of the spotlight by mom, Ansley, or (as you could probably guess) Gran.
In high school, we went to every Prom and Homecoming together and truly had what I thought was a Vogue cover shoot. I traveled many miles watching Kade play basketball and baseball, just counting down the seconds until he could hold my hand in the back of his mom’s signature “4 Moore” Mercedes. We also took countless trips to one of our favorite places to this day, Amelia Island. I vividly remember God telling me my Junior year of high school to hold on tight to Kade.
Now onto college! Despite all odds, Kade and I remained together and truly grew stronger than ever through multiple bouts of long distance: Douglas to Statesboro, Statesboro to Athens, and Wahsington D.C. to Athens. Kade and I truly had some of our most wonderful memories in Athens! From late nights of me getting on Kade to study to attempting to try every restaurant in the city we had so much fun together through it all. The icing on the cake was that the two of us were in Greek life and our houses happened to be right across the street from eachother- truly meant to be! We met some of our dearest friends during our times in the Classic City.
And now for the current chapter we’re in now! To sum it up, I wasn’t quite ready to come home to Douglas when I graduated college. I knew I would always end up at home, but I had a little more city livin in me before I was ready to settle down. I moved to Atlanta and had an amazing job on a political campaign and lived right by Ponce City Market! I think living on my own in Atlanta was so important for my self development; I became confident in my abilities and had a lot of time to self reflect on what I wanted my life to look like. Of course, Kade being the amazing partner that he is, allowed me to have this time all while making many trips up to explore the city with me! He is truly the most patient person I have ever met.
After working so hard on the campaign, we ultimately lost and I was on the hunt for a job. One day while scrolling Facebook I saw that longtime and dear family friend Hailey Ellis posted a marketing position available with Smile Doctors in Atlanta! Then, almost a year after working with Smile Doctors in Atlanta, I got the fantastic opportunity to move back home. It felt like it was so right! Little did I know, 2 weeks after I got the offer, Kade proposed on our 11 year anniversary trip! I made this current chapter a bit more descriptive all to say- God’s timing is truly so perfect. I am constantly in awe of His divine presence in Kade and I’s relationship!
I truly cannot wait to marry my best friend, soulmate, and absolute love of my life! Kade and I not only grew up together, but we grew up FOR eachother. I am so excited to officially share forever with him! CHEERS TO THE FUTURE MOORES!!!!! If you made it all the way through, thank you for taking the time to read my favorite love story ever.
p.s. Yes I know I’m cheesy but how can I not be with a love like this!
