Kenya first laid eyes on Lander when they were 8 years. She remembers seeing him in the lobby at the dance studio that they both danced at. Fast forward to 2021 where they officially meet in a hip hop class and dance together for 2 years. Their friendship grew and blossomed over the next few years when Kenya joined Lander and his two siblings for social outings, Kenya and Lander grew to know each other even more after traveling with her family and Landers family on a YWAM Missions trip with their youth group. Meanwhile everyone around them could see that the relationship looked like it might be more than a friendship. With the help of Lander's matchmaking sister, Natallie, they both admitted having more than friend-type feelings for each other, They went on their first date on Valentine's Day 2024, after Lander humbly asked Kenya's parents to begin courting her. The next several months were spent getting to know each other playing pickle ball in the sun, eating frozen yogurt at Sweet Spot, and taking walks at Lake Sacajawea.
