Kenzie and Kyle met at the University of Arizona. Kyle, on the football team, and Kenzie on the softball team. They claim they really met in the weight room. After a couple different run ins, they finally began dating in spring 2011 and throughout the rest of college.

One of the things they love to do, is watch the San Francisco Giants. On the bucket list was to watch a baseball game at Wrigley Field. So a spur of the moment trip was booked last May for Kenzie and Kyle to head to Chicago and catch a couple of Giants games and visit the city.

While touring the city of Chicago on a very windy day, Kyle convinced Kenzie to go visit and tour the Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park. With no one around, and the sun peaking out at the perfect moment, Kyle got down on one knee and Kenzie said yes. They celebrated by attending the Hamilton Musical shortly after the proposal!
