Begin with a leisurely stroll along the fully accessible 1.3km walkway. Weave your way up and down through the trees, and as the forest floor falls away towards the valley, you will gently rise above the canopy. Awaken all your senses, as you find yourself surrounded by Yew, Larch, Fir, Oak, Spruce, and the magnificent Giant Redwood trees.
“The Wicklow Way” was Ireland’s first waymarked trail, and due to its proximity to Dublin has remained one of the most popular walking routes in Ireland. Tinahely lies directly on this magnificent waymarked trail, and provides the perfect base for exploring one of Ireland’s best-loved and most authentic paths.
Surrounded by rivers and mature forests, Woodenbridge Golf Club is situated just south of the village of Avoca in Wicklow, where the Avoca and Aughrim rivers meet, some 45 minutes from Dublin.
Woodenbridge was described by the legendary Joe Carr as “Ireland’s Augusta” and “The most scenic golf course in Ireland, a hidden gem”.
On the banks of the Avoca river, you’ll find the Avoca store, cafe and mill. This location is the birthplace of the Avoca experience, and the origin of the family’s company name. Dating from 1723, this very special Avoca location is home to the handweaving mill, Avoca Store, Cafe and a visitor centre which tells the story of the mill from the beginning. There are even third generation weavers to show you what goes into the making of an Avoca throw.
