The museum

The museum’s collection includes works from the artist’s entire artistic output—from 1940s student work to 1980s collaborations. Our seven-story museum devotes four floors to showcasing an ever-changing selection of Warhol’s artwork, as well as features a permanent film and video gallery for viewing individual Warhol films and videos. One floor is devoted to the museum’s archives collection, and another is reserved for rotating exhibitions of deep dives into the museum’s collection or showcasing contemporary artists that resonate with Warhol. The ground floor continuously shows Fifteen Minutes Eternal, a twenty-minute introductory film, and the underground includes The Factory education studio and the museum’s conservation lab.

Friday- Sunday

10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Carnegie Museum of Natural History is one of the great cultural institutions funded and built by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, who made his fortune in Pittsburgh’s steel industry. Carnegie’s vision was that the museum would exhibit the wonders of nature to everyone from mill workers to affluent society members.

More than 100 years after Carnegie’s initial gift, Carnegie Museum of Natural History remains a place of scientific inquiry and a world class public institution. As species die out and habitats decline, a new emphasis has been placed on conservation. By displaying nature’s wonders, museum leaders hope to spark conversation about the inherent worth of nature and to inspire a new generation of scientists to conserve both the planet and Carnegie’s vision.

Friday–Sunday: 10 a.m.–5 p.m

As one of the four Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Museum of Art began as the vision of Andrew Carnegie, and his initial concept was to create a museum that would bring the world to the people of Pittsburgh. He achieved this aspiration by creating the very first Carnegie International exhibition in 1896, as a gift to those living and working in the city. More than 125 years later, through collecting art via each Carnegie International, the longest-running North American survey of international art, and through our many other creative activities, we continue to expand the imaginative potential of what a museum can be.
