Kennedy vs. LaGuardia is a somewhat lateral move, but LaGuardia is finally renovated and is at least aesthetically nice, so that would be my pick!

There are two main options when getting from the Airport to Centerport.

1) Use Delux, and pay somewhere between $120-$175 (depending on if you car pool with people, and more if you elect to tip) to go straight from the airport to where you're staying. This is the simplest option.

2)

- Book an Uber to "Penn Station LIRR" (Delux has flat rates and would be $40 more for the same trip in this context)

- Buy tickets for the Long Island Railroad to Huntington ($13 or so, I believe $20 round trip)

- Uber from Huntington Station to where you're staying (shouldn't exceed $20)

Total: about 1:30+ of travel time, $~$105

I would only recommend this if you're comfortable with trains, train stations, etc. I've never had issues with the LIRR though!
