It all began on Burn Night of 2019 at Texas A&M University, when fate (and maybe a little Aggie magic) brought us together. From the very first moment, there was a spark — the kind you don’t ignore.
Our first date was simple but unforgettable: a stroll through a local park to admire the Christmas lights. But in true Kevin fashion, things took a comedic turn when he accidentally walked straight into a pond. Soaked shoes, a lot of laughter, and an early exit made it a night we’d never forget.
We ended the evening cozied up with hot chocolate and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. And just as the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes, Kevin reached over to hold Janie’s hand — and that’s when we both knew… something special had started.
Since that night, we've shared countless memories, supported each other through every season, and laughed more than we ever thought possible.
Now, we can't wait to start this next chapter — hand in hand, heart to heart.
It all started with a road trip to Colorado — a getaway we’d been looking forward to for months. With plenty of stops along the way, laughter in the car, and adventure in the air, we made our way to Cañon City. We spent the day exploring local thrift stores, strolling through parks, and taking in the beauty of the mountains on the scenic Royal Gorge train ride.
That evening, Kevin had something special planned: a romantic dinner at Garden of the Gods Resort, with a stunning view of the storm slowly rolling across the red rocks in the distance. As we laughed and talked over dinner, the moment came — Kevin got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him.
To be honest, it was all a bit of a blur. I was so overwhelmed with joy and excitement that I can’t even remember everything he said — I just know my heart was completely full. We celebrated with champagne, dessert, and that beautiful storm as our backdrop.
The rest of the week was spent camping in Rocky Mountain National Park, hiking, horseback riding, chasing waterfalls, spotting wildlife, and soaking in the magic of nature — and each other.
It was more than a trip. It was the beginning of the rest of our lives.
