Our Wedding

Kevin and Ashley met at JD's Deli &amp; Grille in Oakland, NJ. The two were high school students at the time. Ashley was a server at the restaurant, and Kevin would dine-in often with his father and sister. Just after high school graduation, Kevin had accepted a temporary position as a dishwasher. His first and only shift at the deli, was Ashley's last (for the time being.) Ashley was parting ways with the deli and life in North Jersey, to head south and attend Stockton College. On his one and only day working at JDs, Kevin became the human punching bag for all of the girls at the deli. Everyone was teasing and messing with him. After that day, the two added each other on Facebook. Kevin worked up the nerve and messaged Ashley to finally ask her out on a date. Since Ashley was about to leave for college in 3 days, she was hesitant to accept his date offer. After a conversation with her best friend, now Maid Of Honor Amanda, who told her to "do it for the free meal," she accepted. She told him "just for a quick lunch date" since she had to finish packing for school. Kevin, however, did not plan on this date being just a lunch date. Kevin planned a full day of mini-dates, to spend as much time with Ashley as he could before she left. The two dined at Bahama Breeze, went to visit his volunteer firehouse, watched TV at Ashley's, went on a drive to Bellevale Creamery for ice cream, went swimming at Ashley's, and finally watched a movie. After a day of dates, Kevin asked for one more chance to see her before she left. On Ashley's final day before school, Kevin asked her to come to his house and meet his mom. They all had dinner and spoiled Ashley with going away presents. The two only lasted about a week before Kevin went down to visit Ashley at school. Kevin worked up the nerve and asked Ashley to be his girlfriend on 09.04.2012. Fast forward through many, many, MANY years and the two are still inseparable. After years of adventures, college graduations, fire academy graduations, getting their first place together and a dog together... the two finally took their next step. On their 11th dating anniversary, 09.04.2023, Kevin and Ashley took a trip to Long Branch Beach to celebrate. This time of year together is always so nostalgic for them. Ashley planned the trip, of course. Kevin, however, had orchestrated a big surprise. Kevin had Ashley's friend, now bridesmaid Danielle, text Ashley to arrange a meet-up for drinks at the beach. Once there, Kevin mentioned to Danielle that he wanted a picture on the beach to post for their anniversary. Everyone agreed to head down to the beach to take pictures. After a few pictures had been taken, Kevin worked up the nerve and dropped to one knee. He did it! He pulled off a total surprise. They were engaged! The two are now set to wed on 10.19.2025, and after 13 years together, they will now have a new anniversary to celebrate!
