And that’s exactly what happened a cold night back on November 28th, 2022.

After speaking briefly online, the time had come and Kevin eagerly waited inside at a table in what was one of his favorite breweries near his apartment, Denver Beer Co.

A short while passed and in walked the excellent parallel parker Emily, phone in hand and a mobile game being played the moment she hit the table. Kevin being the inquisitive gamer he was now had the perfect icebreaker to start what was arguably the best first date either party had ever been on.

Little did they know at the time that this would ultimately be the last first date they’d both go on. A simple click to match on a dating app and two lives changed forever. Life can be crazy like that.

On January 1st, 2023, (cliche we know), the pair decided to become an exclusive item. What progressed next was months filled with laughs and growth together, moments of understanding how one another operates, fun times at events like the renaissance festival, but above all else there was two people becoming further and further in love.

Being a little older in the dating world is a blessing in disguise. It allows you to weed out what you want and need from a potential partner much easier (and quicker). As the old saying goes, when you know, you know.

Kevin and Emily both knew what they had with one another was different even from an early stage. It was real. And it hit them both when they least expected it as it often does. The future looked so promising. Talks of it were often, and it eventually lead to Christmas of 2023 where Kevin asked Emily’s father Jim and mother Chris for her hand in marriage. After a resounding yes, plans were *secretly* set in motion to have an Easter proposal in one of Kevin’s favorite early childhood vacation spots, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Finally after much planning and preparation, March 30th, 2024 arrived. Surrounded by some of the oldest oak trees in the country, Kevin got on one knee and asked Emily for her hand in marriage and for the opportunity to present her with a lifetime filled with unlimited happiness. “Yes” was the response (duh). A unity formed. A surprise celebration filled with family was had. The rest is history…
