It all started online

It all started online...We met online. She messaged him and said you seem like afun guy. I like your humor. This beautiful gal thinks I'm funny.... Seem like a genuine person. Close to God, that's important. We started to talk and had common interests in the outdoors. Not crazy. Agreed to meet. Talked every day on the app for a few days. K asked if we could talk on the phone K gave R number. When I texted K, you asked if we could talk on the phone right then. I was so surprised at how intentional that was. R heard K's voice and thought -- wow! He sounds really Minnesotan! (But in a cute way). In messages was really articulate and well spoken. Seemed like a chatty guy. :) K looked forward to that evening call..... We tried to set up a first meet. R didn't want it to be a date - asked if we could errands or soemthing "normal". R needed a lightbulb and he needed a pry bar. At Home Depot, K walked so far in front of me, he was relieved I was true to profile. He was nervous. Exceeded expectations; I knew I was in trouble.... I thought were rude bc he was so far in front of me. But really he was just nervous. That went so quickly, so we went to Target also for some vitamins and grocery items in the heat of summer. Then we both wanted to spend more time together and went to Liliput mini golf in Coon Rapids and finished the evening with DQ. At mini golf, I won the first game by a plus or a half and K was so nervous he couldn't add up our scores in the parking lot. We headed back to HD to pick up my car &amp; head home. Talked in parking lot, snapped a pic. We looked forward to a 2nd date but it had to wait until after Rachel's road trip and camping adventures. We became bf/gf on that 2nd date. Bowling team. Met Piper at a walk around the lake. Started going to church together. Worked on a shed together. Met Judy. A few months later, traveled to phx / CA together. West coast swing dancing w me. Backpacking at Afton SP, summer jobs, New Orleans. Holidays together. I'd drive up from Minneapolis, he'd drive down from CR to see each other. Moved closer to Anoka. Kevin decorated Rachel an office at his house. Learned to clean fish, turkey, deer, duck.

The proposal

Kevin was going to Nebraska to do some land maintenance on hunting ground there. They decided to turn it into a road trip weekend with Piper (the dog) and Rachel too. It was her first time in Nebraska. Earlier that week, Kevin picked out the engagement ring and hid it in his truck so he would be sure to bring it along. After lots of work hiking and foraging they made an evening to rest. Decided we wanted to enjoy a sunset together and walked out to a pretty overlook. While Rachel sat, looking out over the land, Kevin stood up and asked "Babe, do you see the deer still over there?" *She didn't see any deer* "Oh, you might have to stand up to see them". When she stood up, he knelt down, holding up the ring and asked "Rachel Weckerly, will you marry me?" She didn't say anything at first except "What..." He continued on saying can't wait to have many more adventures together. I won't remember what you said. We're getting married??!! :) And then we floated home to start planning the wedding.
