Jake and Kiah's journey together began during the summer of 2020. They met at a youth meeting for their home church where they quickly took notice of one another. Throughout the summer, they were together frequently for painting nights at the same church while also enjoying time with friends. It was only a few weeks later when Jake found reasons to get the gang together so he could be around the beautiful and amazing Kiah Winter.

Soon they had a first date, then a second, then a third, before officially becoming a couple on October 24th, 2020. The couple got to know each other very fast as a result of dating in the midst of a world shutdown where walking, talking, and day trips were a main source of hanging out. They became best friends without trying in a time where peace, hope, and joy were not always easy to come by. Early on, it was clear that a long journey was in store for them. Through it all, Jake and Kiah realized that the other was an absolute answer to prayer. God is so good and so faithful!

About a year into the relationship, Jake began planning to save for a ring. On April 9th, 2022, Jake and Kiah celebrated their engagement. Both are so excited to officially celebrate their marriage with family and friends as they begin the rest of their lives together on May 12th, 2023!
