Our story began long before we ever imagined it would. Back in 2018, I accompanied my cousin to visit one of his close friends. That day, his friend noticed me and asked who I was. My cousin explained that I was already in a relationship, and nothing more came of it—but every so often, he would still ask about me.
Years later, in the summer of 2024, my cousin came to stay with me. Around this time, I had already gone on a marriage fast with another cousin, where I prayed, sought God, and even wrote Him a letter about my future husband. I tucked that letter away, but God began to give me dreams and visions. One was especially clear: before Christmas 2024, I would be engaged. At the time, I wasn’t dating anyone, so I didn’t fully understand how this would happen—but I chose to trust God.
As my cousin stayed with me, his close friend—the same one who noticed me years earlier—learned that I was single. He would come by to visit, but he didn’t speak much. Instead, he quietly observed, prayed, and waited on God to show him when the timing was right.
He asked the Lord for guidance on when to speak, when to approach me, and even when to ask me out. Only when God told him the timing was right did he proceed. The very first conversation he initiated was about my future—asking me where I saw myself in the next three years, what my goals were, and what I wanted in life. That moment began a deeper connection rooted in purpose and God’s perfect will.
On September 6, 2024, David and I made our relationship official. From the start, he was patient, gentle, and intentional. He loved me wholeheartedly, embraced my children, walked with me in faith, and showed me what it meant to be truly cherished.
Then, on November 2, 2024, David asked me to be his wife. It was the fulfillment of the vision and promises God had spoken into my life. Our love story is beautiful because it is God-written. Both of us had walked through brokenness and divorce, but nothing ever worked until we surrendered completely and trusted His process.
David came into my life just as I was coming out of a darkened place—one where God was teaching me to lean fully on Him through that marriage fast. And when David saw me again after all those years, he looked at my cousin, his close friend, and with certainty said: “That’s her. That’s my wife.”
Now, we are honored to celebrate our covenant of love before God, our family, and our friends on July 4, 2026. What began with a prayer and a promise has become our reality. Truly, God’s timing is perfect, and we are living proof that when you wait on Him, He makes everything beautiful in His time.
