Our Story

Introduction:

It all started in downtown Omaha. Picture a bustling night in the Old Market for their mutual friend's birthday. There they were at Billy Froggs. Oscar and Kiara had not met yet. Oscar proceeded to buy the group a round of shots, and in his charming honesty and social unawareness, turned to Kiara and said, "Except you. I don't know you".

From Shots to Serenades:

Despite Oscar's initial shot-denying bravado, and Kiara's feisty attitude, fate had other plans. Fast forward a few bars later, and you'd find Oscar belting out "Mr. Brightside" to Kiara. From that serenade onwards, they were inseparable. Oscar was so persistent showing up at her downtown apartment with flowers, asking her on many dates, and really courting her.

Adventures and Furry Additions:

Their journey has taken them to the Black Hills in South Dakota, Colorado's highest peaks, the parks in Florida, the tropical paradise of Puerto Rico, and many other places. But let's not forget the adventures closer to home, exploring every nook and cranny of Nebraska (thanks, Nebraska Passport!). And of course, their family expanded to include a furry son who brings endless joy and chaos to their lives, sweet schnauzer Paxton.

The Proposal Extravaganza:

In 2023, Oscar decided to take the relationship to new heights. At the Omaha Zoo, amidst the sea lions' playful antics, he popped the question. One of their favorite dates they do quite often is getting coffee at 13th Street Coffee downtown, then heading to the Henry Doorly Zoo to watch the newest IMAX movie. Little did Kiara know, there was another surprise waiting—a heartfelt lunch with both of their families. Walking through the Old Market Passage Way with their close friend Kaleb (and engagement photographer) surrounded by loved ones, they made wishes at the 3 Headed Fountain, sealing their future together with laughter, travel, and love.

A Love Defined by Family and Friends:

If you know Kiara, you know she's all about compassion, caring, and family. Oscar knew the true surprise wasn't just the proposal but the joy of being surrounded by their nearest and dearest. Because at the end of the day, it's their family and friends who define them and fill their lives with meaning.

Looking to the Future:

As they prepare to embark on this next chapter, they are overflowing with excitement. They can't wait for all of their loved ones to gather and celebrate, sharing laughter, creating memories, and dancing the night away. Here's to a happily ever after!
