It all began at Lynn Valley Church where Jordan and Kiera first met- soultrek youth group. At this time, Kiera was in the same friend group as Austin (Jordan’s older brother). Due to this, when Jordan started coming to youth, Kiera felt as though she should say hi. All she got back was a faint smile and barely a wave. If you don’t know Jordan, he is a VERY shy person if he doesn’t know you so for the first month or so of knowing him, Kiera actually thought he had some sort of speech impairment and asked Austin if he was mute!


As time and youth went on, Jordan started hanging out with the same people outside of youth and everyone grew really close. When it came time for the missions trip to Guatemala lots of that group went (including Jordan and Kiera) and on the trip lots of friendships grew stronger and memories were created. Jordan and Kiera actually sat beside each other for every plane ride (4 total) and their friendship was as strong as ever. That same year, they had been co leaders for a crew at the VBS, the summer camp that their church holds every year. Where they really grew close was leading up to the mission trip.   


It wasn't until the Manning park retreat with youth a couple years later where Jordan actually realized he may have feelings for Kiera but at this time, she was going to university at Trinity Western and really wasn’t around much so Jordan did long for his old time friend. When she came to manning that year everything was as if she had never left. They were back to cracking jokes and being good pals again with no clue that they were laughing with their future soul mate.


Although Kiera would come by church every now and then it wasn’t until VBS the following year when Jordan had finished talking to Kiera on the bus before he had to tend to one of his kids that he actually realized that the feelings he had for Kiera were real and had grown. That summer, they spent a lot of time together and Jordan only kept growing more and more fond of Kiera. They spent most days after work and school hanging out with friends and grew super close. For Jordan his feelings were strong as ever…Kiera however, described Jordan as “her best friend, and like a brother” which made Jordans skin just cringe because of how strong his feelings were. That summer however just when Jordan thought he gained enough courage to tell her his feelings she fell into a relationship with someone else and that did have quite a big impact on Jordan. 


He thought about giving up but everytime he watched The Office (which was a lot) he saw how Jim went for it and didn’t give up and he kept telling himself that he just has to hang in. So Jordan decided he wasn’t giving up and that would be the best decision he ever made. 2 years later, after a lot of waiting and a lot of pain for Jordan his time came where he had to step up and share his feelings and boy did he ever NOT look back at that day. Ever since then, they saw each other every day for 400 days growing more and more in love with each other with all their date nights, trips to the park, long drives, drives with the crew, escape rooms, movies, and fantasizing about their future. It all became clear to Jordan what his future would be like and Kiera was in every scene of that. 


On July 23rd 2021 Jordan got down on one knee and asked Kiera to be with him for the rest of his life and there have been absolutely zero regrets for both of them. Excited for the future family they will have and the future they will create together, they move forward with many amazing memories of each other and excited for many more memories to create together. They keep their eyes on God to guide and lead them in their future and thank him every day for the blessing he has given them both…each other. Their love continues to grow every day and will continue on this path till death do them part. So here’s to the years they’ve had and for the many more they will have!
