We are getting married in beautiful Mas Terrats, located in Girona, Spain.
Mas Terrats is a stunning 15th century, newly renovated, Catalan farmhouse. The venue includes over 100 hectares of naturally gorgeous gardens, a vast olive grove and rustic woodland.
Where to fly in to?
The closest airport to our venue is Girona. Alternatively, you can fly into Barcelona airport and get the train up to Girona.
How do we get around?
Girona city centre is a 20 minute drive from the airport. There are multiple hire car companies located at the airport which can be booked online prior to arrival. The roads are easy to navigate but the car parking is tight!
The average fare for a taxi that accommodates up to 4 passengers is around €30, making it a great option for families and groups. If you’re travelling with light luggage and you’re not in a hurry, the bus from Girona Airport to Girona is also a good option. Routes 602 and L-28 stop at Girona Airport and can take you to Girona Bus Station in the city centre in about 20 or 40 minutes respectively. Tickets start from €2.80 per traveller.
Where should we stay?
There are plenty of hotels and air bnb's situated in the city centre, surrounded by lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. We have previously stayed at Hotel Nord which was lovely.
If you are looking for a more relaxed, beachy vibe, the Costa Brava coast is another great place to base yourselves as it is a similar distance from Girona to our venue.
If we are drinking alcohol, how will we get back to our accommodation?
We can speak to our wedding planner to organise a shuttle bus back to Girona for guests staying there. We will also source a local and reliable taxi company for guests to use so please let us know in advance for any help you need.
The Ceremony
Our ceremony will be held in the woodland which is a 5 minute walk from the house. Please bear this in mind when deciding which shoes to wear!
How long will it take us to get from Girona to Mas Terrats?
It takes 40 minutes by car to get from central Girona to our wedding venue, Mas Terrats.
What time should we organise our transport back to our accommodation after the wedding?
