Sterling is the definite romantic in this relationship which he proved through the amount of thoughtfulness, creativity, and time he put into our proposal.

From our very first date and every date thereafter, Sterling collected some memento to remember our date by. Whether it was a receipt, a ticket stub, or even an acorn from a hike, he collected them all for over two years worth of dates.

With the help of his cousin, he created over twenty shadowboxes that reflected every single date we ever went on throughout the course of our relationship. Sterling also created a video in which he explained his plan, recounted favorite memories from our relationship, and even interviewed our closest friends and family about our relationship.

Under the ruse of an art gallery, Sterling got me to go to Ceresville Mansion, the former workplace of his stepmom, my mom, and myself. When I arrived, Sterling was nowhere to be found. I walked through the "art gallery" which consisted of the shadowboxes and told the story of us.

After walking through the gallery, Stacey and my mom took me into the next room where all of our closest friends and family were waiting. Here, the video Sterling made was played, and I had a front row view. I sobbed throughout the entire thing.

Once the video was finished, Sterling came into the room, got down on one knee, and pulled out the most beautiful ring I have ever seen in my life.

When all was said and done, we went back to our house for an engagement party that Sterling organized.

Sterling said the entire proposal took him over six months to plan and prepare; however, it was something he thought of after our very first date. Like I said, romantic.

The level of care and attention put into this proposal was unmatched and is definitely a story we will pass on to our children and our children's children. He pulled off the proposal of a lifetime, and it will forever be one of my most cherished memories.
