From the Bride: I graduated from Kingsville High School, Tyler is a teacher/Coach at Kingsville High School.
A couple years ago I changed jobs and while I was waiting to start my new job I decided to substitute teach for Kingsville High School. One day I saw Tyler walking in the hallway towards me and thought to myself, "wow I need to talk to this good-looking teacher" and as he got closer the only thing I could think to ask him was "hey do you know where the bathrooms are" as if I didn't already know, I mean I went to that tiny school for 7 years, the bathrooms didn't move! He told me where to locate them and continued on his way. A few days later I could not stop thinking about him so I decided I should message him on Facebook, still unsure what to say so I just decided to ask him how he liked working at Kingsville and if he liked the other teachers, because I "was thinking about working there". Today we laugh about this, because I wasn't looking to work there. I already knew most of the teachers, it's a small town, I graduated from there and one of the teachers was my stepmother. Thankfully at the time he never figured it out, he continued to answer all my weird questions, being the nice guy that he is because I was definitely being that crazy stocker person. I got his number, we texted and eventually had long phone conversations, hours at a time. I know it's hard to believe Tyler on the phone for more than 5 minutes, but he did and I am grateful. We waited 2.5 months before going on our first date, to Martin City Brewery, it obviously went well and went on many more dates. I moved out of my apartment in Lee's Summit and into a rental my parents owned in Strasburg. Tyler came to visit me a lot and eventually we noticed all his things were at the house and he hadn't gone home in a really long time. I remember asking him "when did you move in" I laughed and then he laughed and said "I have no idea".
In April of 2022 we moved into our new home. Tyler did most of the work himself, with help of family, but we love it so much. There is still a lot that needs to be done, we still need a garage and a wood shop for Tyler, kitchen cabinets (we have temporarily ones now), shelves in the closets, bedframes, kitchen island and much more. Its a slow process but I wouldn't have it any other way. Every imperfection is perfect, he put his blood, sweat and tears into this house and I couldn't be more proud of him.
I never thought I would get married, I always had one foot out the door but with Tyler it was different, even my family knew it. They love him so much; they joke about liking him better than me but I'm not so sure it's a joke. HA but I cant blame them, he's amazing.
I'm obsessed with Christmas, I put tons of trees up, and decor in every inch of the house, it feels magical. Tyler found a way to make Christmas even more special by purposing to me on Christmas morning 2022. He wrapped up the paperwork in a box, and when I say he wrapped, I mean he had his wonderful mother wrap the ring paperwork in a gift. I opened the Christmas present on Christmas morning, it was just the two of us and when I looked up he was on one knee.
We support each other, we work well together, he helped me get into my dream of coaching, he's truly changed my life for the better, we are blessed and happy, I cannot imagine my life without him. I keep him wild and he keeps me calm. There were ton of obstacles we had to go through to even meet let alone go on that first date, but the man upstairs had a plan for us. Thank God!
