It was air hockey that did it. Yes, air hockey.

We met for the first time in the fall of 2021, at a Chicago arcade bar, after a brief interaction on a dating app. Craig’s competitive nature and Kikanza’s Taurean determination produced a great matchup. The game of air hockey (Craig won) became the background to a long conversation that didn’t feel long at all. We hit it off right away, both remarking afterwards that it felt as if we had been friends for years.

Each conversation led to more, and before long we were taking in Chicago’s magnificent sights and sounds. Friendship grew into love, and with a shared interest in travel, we began with our first trip to New Orleans on Easter Weekend in 2022. Many adventures later we eventually landed in Paris, France, where we got engaged in August 2023.

Friends and family often remark of the beauty of our symmetry. We truly enjoy each other’s company and blending our lives together. Our love, respect, and genuine admiration for one another provides a strong foundation to weather life’s rainbows and storms. We are blessed to have found each other to do life together, and we welcome each of you into our journey of love and marriage.
