Our Wedding

When we met, neither of us had any intention of dating anyone seriously. After being introduced at a Christmas party, we ended up becoming part of the same friend group who hung out quite a bit. Our friend group did tons of really fun things that gave us the opportunity to get to know each other. We also went to or watched movies with friends quite a bit and the tension during movie watching was real, Kim thought Matt wanted to hold her hand but he never would. And she obviously wasn't going to make the first move.Our first official "date" was dinner at Chili's. Then a group date to Carmen. After that, we kept hanging out with our friends but also starting doing more things alone as well. We went to a concert in Las Vegas which was the first time Matt got brave enough to put make a move, and the first time Kim actually knew Matt liked her "like that". Which was good because she was starting to like him too.Eventually Matt taught Kim how to play Backgammon, a fav game of his, and completely slaughtered her nearly every game until one fateful evening. Kim was trying really hard to get in Matts head to throw him off his game and decided to wager for a kiss. He didn't agree to said wager but that didn't matter, Kim decided it was still going to be a wager. In all realty, Kim didn't think it would work and had no expectations. However, Kim won not one, not two, but three games in a row! In reality, Kim really did not expect a kiss since Matt hadn't actually agreed to said wager. But to her surprise (while she was celebrating the win with a dance party) he stood up, grabbed her face and gave her the best first kiss. Pretty sure he even said Kim earned it, or deserved it? Adorable. After picking out rings Kim wasn't so sure Matt would ever get brave enough to actually propose. However he went above and beyond. He worked for weeks to scope out the perfect place and to get all our loved ones in one spot. And Kim had no clue...until she ruined her own surprise. The boys called earlier in the day and said we were going to Hermies for dinner with the parents. Around 5 pm the boys started calling, asking when Kim would come home. She kept telling them she was working on it and said she'd just meet them there but they insisted Kim pick them up first. Well while she was driving home, she passed Hermies and noticed a lot of familiar vehicles. Suspicious. And sure enough, when they pulled up to Hermies the boys told Kim to go to the gazebo at the park where Matt was waiting for her with pretty flowers and a ring. He proposed, then we walked down to Hermies to celebrate with family and friends. The whole restuarant erupted in cheers when we walked in! It was fantastic. Matt is super sentimental and his plan was perfect. That park and Hermies are now a daily reminder of our fun engagement.And the rest is history. Our relationship has been slow and steady, neither of us really know when we shifted from friends to more but that's the best way to have it we think. We are feeling all the emotions about this new chapter in our lives and are thankful for everyone who's been soo supportive of us. We love you!
