Our Story

It Was "Lock Down" After The First Date

Kim and Cody met for their first date at Kokopelli Beer Company, Westminster, CO on March 14th 2020...thats right...1 day before Colorado shut down for COVID Lock down. Cody showed up on his red Thruxton cafe motorcycle, which is never a bad idea to show up on to impress a girl (too bad Kim couldn't go on the back). Well, COVID shut down the city and date nights became "who can make the better meal from home". Cody got a smoker and cooked smoked salmon, ribs, brisket...plus anything else you can smoke. Easter came and went and Kim craved a Ham and scalloped potatoes, and outdid herself. Did they fall in love over food? Maybe?

Kim and Cody bonded over their love for horses and motorcycle rides, beer & whisky tasting, cowboy culture: including rodeos & leather making, movies, dogs, and COVID activities like puzzles that they never finished.

Once some COVID regulations lifted, Kim and Cody started some out of state traveling to Santa Fe, NM where they learned they had an affinity for white buffalo turquoise, road trips, and breakfast burritos in Trinidad.

Cody took Kim camping for the first time and showed her it didn't have to be all dirt and canned food. Chuck wagon camping involved nice steaks cooked on an open fire under the stars, and discovering a crazy amount of Moose.

Kim loved showing Cody her home town of San Diego, CA and introducing him to her friends and family. The last couple of Christmas's were spent in sunny SD visiting all of the tourist spots.

It's not all fun and games. Cody can drive Kim crazy with his "Cody clutters" around the house; and Kim drives Cody crazy with time and money spent on the other man in Kim's life, Copper, the horse. But their favorite times spent together are laughing over Cody's clever but raunchy innuendos, learning to dance together, and dreaming about their future property...on 40+ acres, with a moat, and a lazy river, with a ghost town-dude ranch, wedding-venue. "Is that too much to ask for?" (inside joke)
