Airport Transfer

PRIVATE CAR / MINI BUS

This is the quickest option and great if travelling in groups as it will take you direct to your accommodation. If you book in advance, there are numerous transfer companies you can use.

Zip Transfers are an option we have used ourselves and will accommodate a larger group, prices will vary depending on the number of people travelling. The driver will meet you at the arrivals hall and bring you direct to your accommodation.

Approximate Prices as follows:

Group of 4 is approx. €73 each way (per car) - this works out at €36.50 pp return.

Group of 8 people is approx. €95 each way (per mini bus) - this works out at €23.75 pp return.

Connecto are also a reliable alternative for travelling from the airport directly to your accommodation in Nerja. Prices are similar to the above. The driver will meet you in the arrivals hall or just outside it. Connecto also has options for larger groups.

There are alternative Transfer Companies that can be found on Google.

Taxi

A taxi from Malaga airport to Nerja will cost approximately €80.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

BUS - the bus transfer from Málaga airport to Nerja is comfortable and good value at approximately €7. Timetables and pricing can be accessed at https://www.alsa.es. IT takes about 1 hour 40mins.

There is also a more frequent option to Nerja from Malaga City - this requires a relatively simple transfer by train to Malaga and then take a bus from there. The train station is clearly signposted from the airport arrivals hall. You need to travel to Málaga Maria Zambrano station which is right next to the bus station in the city centre. The train takes 8 minutes to reach Málaga and departs every 30 minutes.

Once at Málaga enter the terminal building toward the right side and look for the "Alsa" cubicles, numbers 4-6, from which the tickets for the Nerja bus are sold. There is also a ticket machine by the cubicle with an English option for the instructions. The time of the next bus will be printed on your ticket. Direct buses take an hour, stopping only at Velez Málaga and Torrox on the way. Stoppers take about 1 hour 45 minutes

Nerja bus station is not the most obvious; it is merely a pull in on the main road large enough for about 3 buses on either side of the road. The most noticeable thing is that this is where almost everyone will get off! Look for Hostal Azahara as a landmark and you are in the right place.

It is about a ten to fifteen minute walk from the bus station to the centre of town, Balcón de Europa, a bit more if you’re lugging heavy suitcases. The alternative would be a taxi. The taxi rank, operational from 08:00 to 20:00 is on the opposite side to the ticket kiosk.

For a current bus timetable you can visit the Alsa website www.alsa.es
