Unless specifically included on your invitation we are not inviting children to our wedding. This is due to venue numbers and to allow you uninhibited fun and revelry. That being said, we appreciate that not everyone can arrange overnight childcare. We wouldn’t want this preventing you from celebrating with us. Therefore, if you can't attend without your children, please just let us know and we would be happy to discuss accommodating them.

Danby Castle Barn is located in the North Yorkshire National Park and so for environmental reasons the regulations state only real petals or dried flowers are allowed. We will provide appropriate confetti, please do not bring your own.

No specific dress code. Normal Wedding attire.

You can leave your car in the venue's car park but it must be collected by 10:00 the next day.

The ceremony starts at 13:30 so we ask day guest to please arrive between 12:30 and 13:00. Evening celebrations will start from 19:30

We have planned for an outdoor wedding. However, if the weather has other ideas it will be moved inside. We have exclusive use of the venue for the day and evening, including the castle ruins and lawned area overlooking the Yorkshire Moors.

Please do not take photos during the ceremony as we would like you to be present in the moment…..and also we don’t want our wedding photos full of you lot holding up phones lol. But otherwise, yes feel free to take as many photos as you like. We will have an app for each guest to upload their best pictures of the day and night and share them with us.....so click away! However, please refrain from posting any pictures of the Bride and Groom on social media until we have done so ourselves.

Of course this is your personal choice. However, due to the location of the venue being in the Yorkshire Moors, roads are narrow, windy and covered in sheep. We strongly suggest you arrange accommodation close by rather than driving home in the dark.
