This is a story all about how our lives got flipped, turned upside down.

For starters, we know what y'all are thinking... no, we didn't meet in the produce isle at the grocery store. It's 2023, we met online. JP used the worst pickup line Kim had ever heard, but after "gotcha boy" didn't get her, she decided to give JP a chance. JP finally got Kim to agree to a date, however that date didn't happen that night because Kim got distracted by friends, beer, and dogs; 3 things that would eventually help them bond. We rescheduled the date for two days later. JP drove under the sketchy bridge that was over her house while thinking "I might should have just left it at the canceled date and used my phenomenal pickup line on someone else". With hesitation and a lot of nerves JP pulled up, went to knock on her door, and was greeted by Kim who had on two different shoes, not ready just yet. JP was so nervous he doesn't remember that Kim had on 2 different shoes. Little did he know, this was foreshadowing his future with Kim. After finally deciding what she would wear, we headed out to Cabo Fish Taco where we shared food, drinks and laughs. We decided to hangout again a few days later for what Kim called Sunday funday. Too much surprise JP met 2 of Kim's closest friends and even facetimed her mom. We had so much fun on Sunday funday that we were inseparable and spent as much time as we could together in the following weeks. We officially started dating about a month after meeting.

A month after making it official "we" got another corgi puppy and named him Lewy. But let's keep it honest here, Kim got a puppy after JP told her she didn't need another dog. As far as JP was concerned Baxter was more than enough. Little did we know, this would end up being the start of our family.

A month later Kim decided that she did not want to travel nurse anymore, took a full-time position in charlotte, and bought a house. Kim, Baxter and Lewy then packed up and moved from Bristol to Mount Holly. JP's lease was up at his apartment at this time, and he decided he would move in with his friend Joseph. JP then found himself basically using the room at Joseph's house as a storage room because he did not want to be away from Kim and the dogs. Shortly after JP moved in with Kim officially because Joseph was getting married soon and would be "kicking him out".

In the months and 2 years to follow we took multiple vacations, many trips to Virginia, and spent lots of time with family and friends. We grew as individuals and grew our relationship along the way. Finally, after a year of countless Tik Toks and Instagram reels about rings, it dawned on JP that Kim might be ready for a proposal. So, one day when Kim was out of town, he told her he was going to eat with his mom and granny in downtown Kannapolis but instead went and purchased a ring from Falls Jewelers. JP then got the call that it was time for him to pick up the ring on January 31st, 2025. He brought the ring home, found the perfect hiding spot, and waited for the perfect moment to ask the question. Finally, after waiting so long, JP got to the point that he could not hold on to the ring for any longer and needed to ask Kim to marry him. On February 1st, 2025, JP proposed in Boone, NC at Appalachian Mountain Brewery with some of their close friends around. Yes, you read that correctly... not even 24 hours later. AMB, was already special to us from the many memories we had created there, but now it holds a more special place in our hearts.

So that's it folks... the story and timeline of what brought you to this website. We both are ecstatic to continue this journey and look forward to celebrating with all of y'all along the way!
