Kyle and I met on New Year's Eve Night ringing in 2012. After months of hearing from Val, Kyle's mom, about how handsome and available her son was, we were finally in the same city at the same time. ( Little did she know what she was getting herself into!) After Kyle and I met we spent time with Kyle's family, enjoyed the sites of La Crosse, and played guitar and sang (him better than me). We were fortunate that Kyle was able to stay in town for a few weeks as he works across the country. Soon Kyle traveled to Florida to take care of his grandparents and I was able to visit him for a couple days. That was our first big adventure together and we have been making memories across the country ever since!

In September of 2012, just nine months after Kyle I met he proposed. I had been at a conference in Madison, Wisconsin, and Kyle was on the east coast for work. Driving home from the conference, Kyle's sister, Ashley texted me and asked if I wanted to go out to dinner that night. I was tired from my the conference, but said yes, and we made plans for her to pick me up. As I got ready for dinner Kyle called me and we exchanged details for our plans for the evening, while on the phone the doorbell rang. As I went to answer the door I turned the knob and simultaneously our phone call disconnected. I opened the door and to my surprise Kyle was there. Without hesitation he brought out the ring and asked me to marry him. I said yes and was speechless for the next hour (hard to believe , right?)

I found out afterward that Kyle had called my father the night before to ask for his permission. My dad was thrilled and still is. (

The wedding is at Majestic Oaks Golf Club in Ham Lake, MN. We picked this location for several reasons. One, I (Kimberly) went there with my family for Sunday Brunch for many special occasions as I was growing up . Kyle's family had also been to Majestic Oaks before. Lastly, Kimberly's family lived in Andover for 16 years. Kyle's family lived in East Bethel during some of this time. Majestic Oaks is between both of our former homes.

Kyle and I both wished to get married outside. Majestic Oaks has two beautiful outdoor locations surrounded by beautiful oak trees with a backdrop of a large pond. Kyle was raised in Florida and loves being on the water. Kyle owned a sail boat for a small period of time and we hope to own one again in the near future. For this reason, we have gone with a nautical theme.
